なんてね
I've discovered that translating song lyrics is a good way to pass my language lab hours (and also just fun in general), so I've been doing a ton lately. I'm far too neurotic to post most of them (because I can't very well be critical of other translations if I post ones that suck), but I worked really hard on this one, so it's getting posted.
(Corrections are always welcome. There's room for interpretation, but it's also entirely possible that I've made some mistakes, so feel free to point out anything that seems off to you.)

丸ちゃんってかわいいでしょう
I translated this after Maru sang it on Shounen Club, though these lyrics are for a longer version with an extra verse. Presumably V.West performed it in this form at some point. Either way, it's a cute song.
(As usual, corrections are welcome. There's always room for interpretation in translations, but I'd like to know if I got anything totally wrong. Or if I made any stupid typos, for that matter.)

欲しい物は何ですか
This was the first song I ever tried to translate (and showed anyone the results, anyway), so I've fixed it up a bit using my hopefully improved knowledge of Japanese. XD There are still some bits I'm not sure about, though, so corrections are welcome.

Oh no, she's done it again
So, I found lyrics for two of the new songs Subaru sang at the Flat Five Flowers cons (which he wrote lyrics to), and they were pretty, so I attempted to translate them.
The usual disclaimer for my translations applies: I'm not great at Japanese, and song lyrics especially are hard to translate without appropriate grammatical knowledge, so these are probably not incredibly accurate, but they'll give you the general idea. These songs, Starlight in particular, are a bit on the poetic side, which makes them especially hard to translate (and I didn't even try to make it sound as pretty as the original lyrics), but...again, at least it'll give you some idea what they're about. And these Japanese lyrics are from a random blog, presumably done by ear/memory from screens at the concert, so I don't know if it's exactly accurate. So, umm, yes, I'll stop disclaiming and post. (Japanese lyrics are at the end of the post, if you read Japanese and want to see how badly I messed up read for yourself.)

Shounen Club Premium List of Semi-Doom

In which Ilana pretends to know Japanese
It's entirely possible that there exists a translation for this song somewhere already, but the only one I had on hand was in really awkward English, so...I decided to do one myself. Because I'm crazy like that. I make no promises as to the accuracy of this translation (especially since there's a lot of room for interpretation), but there should at least not be anything glaringly wrong. I hope. XD
ANYWAY. The song is "Name of Love", written by I have no idea who, sung by various members of Kanjani8 at various times. I got the Japanese lyrics by googling and edited it according to the version sung by Subaru and Ryo in Douton Boys (since that's the mp3 I have on my computer). This is identical to what Maru sang at his solo con. The version sung by Ohkura and Yasu in Spirits is just the last verse (without the last line).

In conclusion: Japanese is hard, this song is very emo, and I love Subaru a lot. Thank you, and goodnight. XD

I have been assured that I (probably) didn't post this before and totally forget about it, so...if I did, I blame someone else? XD Anyway. I posted a crazy long list of all the dramas I've watched, and I could probably ramble at length about all of them, but I decided to spare both you and my hands and only talk about a few. These aren't necessarily my favorite dramas (I left off Nobuta, for example), but I wanted to talk about some dramas that are a bit more obscure, less commonly recced or often skipped over for various reasons. Fic spam yay? (public version)
It seems like when I post these days, it's always a couple of posts in swift succession, which makes me feel like I'm spamming even more than usual. Sorry about that?
Anyway, as I said a few days ago, I’m declaring WiP amenesty day because I have several never-to-be-finished works-not-in-progress that it would make me very sad to leave sitting on my computer forever. (I have a lot more than these that I could spam you with, actually, but these are the longer and less-weird ones that I feel reasonably comfortable sharing as they are.) I hope some of you will find them interesting despite their incompleteness.
Kurosagi/Gokusen 2 crossover, Kurosaki and Ryu (sorry, it’s gen). mananeh threw this plot bunny at me ages ago and probably thought nothing would ever come of it, but I was randomly inspired and wrote almost 1500 words of it before the plot refused to come together in my head and I gave up. That was in November, so I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get randomly inspired again and finish it, sadly.

1 Litre of Tears, Haruto/angst OTP. I was in the mood to write something sad and started writing this, only to realize I had no idea where to go with it. (This is unfortunately very common when I try to write 1LoT fic.)

Akihabara@Deep fic (and other stories)
Yesterday was my brother's birthday, so my whole family came to visit me and we went to see Wicked. I like musicals, and I like seeing them with my family, so yay, but...well, I can definitely understand now why people who like the book Wicked have complaints about the musical. I knew about some of it going in, thanks to fox1013's ranting, so it wasn't quite as upsetting as it might have been, but it still annoyed me a lot. The musical itself wasn't bad, but...yeah. Maybe I should stop complaining about the Hana Kimi drama being a bad adaptation now...
Anyway. The point of this post is that I have fic. This is sadly not a sign I can write longer things again, since I wrote this ages ago after I watched Akihabara@Deep for the first time, but at least I have something to post.

Nobuta fic(let), yay?
I kind of fail at fic these days. It's sad because for a while I could write, but I had to bug people to give me ideas, and now I have all kinds of ideas, but because I can't concentrate for more than 100 words, I can't do them justice. It's really frustrating, and also makes me sad because I don't feel like I have much to contribute to fandom besides fic (especially now that I'm anti-social gimpy and rarely talk to people on AIM). *emo sigh*
But ANYWAY. That's only relevant because this fic was supposed to be something completely different, but it wasn't working, so I tossed everything but the first paragraph and tried again and wound up with this. It's not what I was planning, but hopefully it will suffice.
So. It's a little early for me, but I'm going to be busy tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure this got posted. Happy birthday, kitsune714! I hope you have a wonderful day, and a very relaxing one too, since you definitely deserve it after this week. I attempted to write you Akira/Nobuta fic, but because it's me due to the aforementioned fic writing issues, it turned out more gen than anything else. I hope you like it anyway.

I come bearing Kurosagi fic
I hereby declare today WIP amnesty day for myself, mostly because I need an excuse to post this fic. Now, I have several WIPs I could hypothetically post, but this one I'm about...95% sure I'm never going to finish, seeing as it's been sitting in my notebook for months and I can't figure out where to go with it. At 2781 words it's one of the longest things I've ever written, so I want to share it even if it stops right in the middle of things. Feel free to ignore if that's going to bother you/you think posting WIPs is stupid/whatever.
(ETA: Well, people tell me that it actually does seem to end and could be considered finished as it is, if that helps. I kind of wanted to do more, but I guess it does sort of work this way. You can decide for yourself.)

And now for something...partially different
I've been wanting to write something nice and angsty for a while, so I was very happy when a Kurosagi plot bunny attacked me today. I know almost no one on my flist reads this stuff and I'm not sure how much sense it makes anyway, but that's okay because I liked writing it. *is evil* Anyway, hopefully this has satisfied the angst craving and I'll be able to go back to writing (relatively) fluffy stuff for a while. We'll see.
